I’ve been scorching wood and using a wire brush to remove the soft wood before staining or white washing, a technique I learned from Matthew Peech here on UA-cam. I love it

1 or 2, depends on style you are going for. 2 is more mid century modern in my opinion while 1 is more minimalist farmhouse
